Mount Usher Gardens
The gardens were first planted in 1868 in the Robinsonian style, after the Irish garden designer William Robinson, who emphasised informal planting in harmony with the natural setting of the garden. There are over 5,000 species of plants and shrubs from all over the world. Visitors can follow one of the shaded winding paths and sit on one of the benches scattered throughout the nine hectares of gardens along the River Vartry. The Avoca Garden Café and Courtyard shops are also very popular with visitors.
